Meerut: Husband Spots Wife with Lover in Car, Dragged 1 KM on Bonnet

Meerut: A dramatic incident unfolded on the Moradabad-Agra state highway when a security guard, Mohd Samir, saw his wife, Noor Afsha, with her lover, Nazrul Hasan, in a car. Upon confronting them, Hasan attempted to run over Samir. The guard clung to the car’s bonnet as Hasan drove at speeds of 80-90 kmph for nearly a kilometre. The vehicle was eventually stopped when another car intercepted it.
Samir then jumped off the bonnet, opened the car door, and pulled Hasan out, leading to a 30-minute altercation on the highway that caused a traffic jam.
Samir, a Katghar resident, later filed a complaint against Hasan at the Katghar police station. The accused, Hasan, 32, is a taxi driver from Bilari, while Samir’s wife, Afsha, 29, is a teacher.
A widely circulated video showed the car speeding with Samir clinging to the bonnet. Samir stated in his complaint that he spotted his wife and Hasan near the regional transport office on Wednesday evening. When he confronted them, Hasan tried to flee, leading to the incident.
According to Moradabad Superintendent of Police (City) Ranvijay Singh, Afsha and Hasan had a relationship before her marriage to Samir nine years ago. However, after differences arose, Afsha and Samir had been living separately for the past seven years.
Hasan has been booked under IPC sections 279 (rash driving), 337 (causing hurt by endangering life or personal safety of others), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), and 352 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace).
