Meerut: Chaos Erupts After Girl Molested, Accused Thrashed by Crowd

Meerut: A 12-year-old girl was molested in the TP Nagar police station area on Saturday. There is also an allegation of the accused committing obscene acts by closing the shutter of the shop. Angry people beat up the accused and handed him over to the police. After a long uproar, the police registered a case. The victim, a girl, was riding a bicycle near her house.
Arvind, alias Pappu, who runs a tea stall nearby, lured the girl and took her inside the shop. It is alleged that the accused closed the shutter of the shop and started committing obscene acts. When the girl started shouting, people opened the shutter. After this, people beat up the accused. The girl’s family also reached the spot.
The police took the accused into custody. People created a ruckus in the police station, demanding action against the accused. SP City Ayush said that on the complaint of the girl’s family, a case has been registered against the accused under the POCSO Act and molestation sections.
