Bengaluru: A youth vandalised a bakery in Krishnamurthy Layout, Suddaguntepalya, after being refused free tea and cigarettes. The incident occurred recently when the young man damaged glass containers at the shop. When the bakery owner threatened to report him, the youth allegedly hurled obscene abuses at the police and dared them to take action.
Suddaguntepalya police have registered a case and launched a search for the accused. According to the complaint filed by Ramsidh Saifullah, owner of SG Bakes and Juice, the incident took place around 12:30 PM last week. The accused, identified as Appi, who is in his early 20s, entered the shop demanding a cigarette and tea. Saifullah refused to provide the items without payment, stating that Appi frequently took products without paying.
Enraged, Appi began threatening and abusing the shopkeeper before smashing glass containers from the shop onto the road. A senior police officer noted that Saifullah initially refrained from filing a complaint out of fear. However, after a mobile video of the incident went viral on Monday, he approached the police. Authorities suspect Appi may have been intoxicated at the time.
Locals revealed that Appi works as a painter and is often seen loitering in graveyards and public areas. A police team has been formed to apprehend him soon.
