Man Stabbed and Dragged Over 1500m by 2 Men: Accused Arrested

Noida: A 50-year-old e-rickshaw driver was stabbed in the abdomen multiple times and dragged for about 1500 meters by two men who tied his right leg to their bike in Sector 49 on Saturday night.
The two accused, Anuj Kumar (30) from Bulandshahr, and Nitin Besla (25) from Barola, stopped their bike in front of the local police outpost and surrendered themselves before the cops. The victim (Hasan) was taken to the hospital immediately, while blood oozed from his wounds and he gasped for breath, where he died during the treatment.
DCP Manish Mishra said the attack was a result of an old rivalry. “Hasan was on his way back home when the two confronted him around 9 pm. The argument escalated into a fight. Anuj pulled out a knife from his pocket and stabbed him in the abdomen several times,” he added.
Their rage, not yet satiated, they tied Hasan’s right leg to their Hero Splendor motorcycle and started dragging him on the road. A 5-minute video clip uploaded on social media witnesses Anuj riding the bike and Nitin sitting pillion as Hasan is dragged.
By the time they reached the Barola police outpost, Hasan was out of breath. Besides his stabbed wound, he also suffered many scratches and bruises on his body from the dragging. Police said that there had been enmity between the two families since 2018. “Hasan had attacked Anuj’s father and stabbed him as well. Police had then registered a case under Section 307 (attempt to murder) of the IPC and arrested Hasan. Hasan was out on bail during the incident,” Mishra commented.
Hasan, originally from Badaun, had been living in Barola for the past eight years and driving an e-rickshaw. His family constituted his wife, who worked as a domestic staffer, and his four children.
Hasan’s wife told newspapers that Hasan had attacked Anuj’s father because he had made some derogatory comments against their daughter. “When my husband confronted him, Anuj’s father abused him too. So, he stabbed him in a fit of rage and has been in jail for several months for attempted murder. Their family had been planning to kill my husband for long, so when he came out of jail on bail, they found an opportunity and attacked him,” alleged his wife.
