Bengaluru: A shocking incident unfolded on a Bengaluru street Friday night, where a man brutally killed his wife over suspicions of infidelity. The crime took place in public view in the city’s Electronic City locality.
The accused, 43-year-old Krishnappa, a daily wage laborer from Bagepalli in Chikkaballapur district, murdered his 35-year-old wife, K. Sharada, a domestic worker, by slitting her throat with a knife. The attack occurred around 8 p.m. as Sharada was on her way home from work.
Police reports indicate that Krishnappa had travelled to Bengaluru with the clear intention of killing his wife. He waited along her usual route and, upon spotting her, confronted her before launching a vicious assault—stabbing her multiple times in the neck. Sharada collapsed on the spot and succumbed to her injuries before help could arrive.
As Krishnappa tried to escape, bystanders intervened, chased him down, and restrained him until the police reached the scene.
Bengaluru Deputy Commissioner of Police Sarah Fatima, along with a forensic team, inspected the crime scene soon after the incident.
A formal case has been registered, and investigations are ongoing.
