'Looteri Dulhan' Arrested for Marrying 8 Men, Extorting Lakhs

In a shocking incident, a woman named Sameera Fatima has been arrested in Nagpur, Maharashtra, for allegedly marrying eight men and extorting large sums of money from them. The accused, a teacher by profession, was caught while meeting her potential ninth victim.

Modus Operandi
Fatima would target wealthy, married Muslim men using matrimonial sites and social media platforms like Facebook. She would initiate contact, sharing emotional stories about her life to gain sympathy and trust. Claiming to be a helpless divorcée with a child, she would manipulate her victims into parting with their money.

Extortion Amounts

  • Up to Rs 50 lakhs were extorted from individual victims
  • Rs 15 lakhs were extorted from another victim through cash and bank transfers
  • Senior officers of the Reserve Bank were also among her targets

Investigation and Arrest
The police suspect that Fatima has been involved in such activities for the past 15 years, duping several men. She was arrested on July 29 at a tea shop in Nagpur. Authorities believe she was working with a gang to extort money from her different husbands.

Fatima’s arrest has sent shockwaves, highlighting the need for vigilance and caution when interacting with strangers online. The police are now investigating the matter further to uncover the extent of her operations.
