Kremlin Rejects Health Speculations About President Vladimir Putin

The Kremlin has dismissed recent speculations about the health of President Vladimir Putin, firmly asserting that he is in good health. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, during a routine press briefing, also categorically denied rumours suggesting that President Putin uses body doubles, describing such claims as an “absurd hoax.”
The questions about Putin’s health surfaced following an unsourced report from a Russian Telegram channel, which was subsequently picked up by some Western media outlets. The report claimed that the President had experienced a severe health episode on a particular Sunday evening.
Vladimir Putin, known for his passion for judo and his “action man” image, recently celebrated his 71st birthday on October 7. He maintains a demanding schedule of meetings and public appearances, many of which are televised for the public to see.
His recent engagements included a visit to China, where he participated in significant diplomatic discussions, reaffirming the strong ties between Russia and China. On his way back, he made stops in two Russian cities, highlighting his continued involvement in both domestic and international matters.
The topic of body doubles has been a recurring subject of discussion in the past. In a 2020 interview, Putin personally denied the long-standing rumors and clarified that he had been offered the option of using body doubles in the past for security reasons. Kremlin spokesman Peskov also affirmed earlier this year that claims of body doubles were baseless and reiterated that President Putin enjoys excellent health.
The Kremlin’s swift response to these rumors underscores the ongoing interest in Russia’s political leadership and its commitment to dispelling unsubstantiated claims about the President’s health and image.
