Kolkata Rape and Murder: CBI Filed Chargesheet Against Sanjay Roy
Sanjay Roy has been charged with the rape and murder of a trainee doctor within the hospital premises.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has filed a chargesheet against Sanjay Roy in connection with the rape and murder of a trainee doctor at RG Kar Hospital. Roy has been charged with assault and the killing of the doctor inside the hospital’s seminar room on August 9.
The victim had gone there to rest during her overnight shift, and her body was discovered the next morning by a junior doctor. The post-mortem confirmed she had been raped and murdered, revealing 25 internal and external injuries.
Sanjay Roy, a civil volunteer with the Kolkata police, was a regular presence at the hospital. CCTV footage captured him entering the seminar room at 4:03 am and exiting about half an hour later. His Bluetooth headphones were also found at the crime scene by the Kolkata police.
