“Koi Mil Gaya” is a film directed by Rakesh Roshan. It is India’s first sci-fi drama featuring an alien named Jadoo. The film was originally released on 8 August 2003. After its commercial success, the film is being re-released on its 20th anniversary. The film will be screened in 30 different cities across India. The idea behind re-releasing the movie in theaters is to relive the nostalgia and introduce the new generation to Jadoo. This Bollywood classic has received love from both the young and old generations.
The movie revolves around the story of Rohit, a mentally disabled boy who becomes friends with an alien. It also conveys a social message of anti-bullying and social acceptance. The movie stars Hrithik Roshan, Preity Zinta, Rekha, Prem Chopra, and Johnny Lever. It is India’s first multi-genre story franchise that continues the characters and storyline from its preceding parts. Its sequels, “Krrish,” “Krrish 2,” and “Krrish 3,” also performed well at the box office, and there are rumors of the upcoming release of the franchise’s fourth installment.
Hrithik Roshan and Rakesh Roshan both took to their Instagram accounts to express their excitement and happiness about the re-release and the film’s anniversary. Not only the movie but also its songs have received immense love. Songs like ‘Khona Pyaar Hai,’ ‘Idhar Chala Main Udhar Chala,’ and the title track ‘Koi Mil Gaya’ are Bollywood classics. Besides the box office collection and audience appreciation, the movie won many awards.
In 2004, the movie won 3 Filmfare Awards in the categories of Best Actor, Best Director, and Best Movie. In the same year, it also received 2 IIFA Awards for the special effects of the film and a Best Director award. Additionally, the movie received several other awards.
