J&K: Security Forces Eliminate 2 Terrorists in Kupwara, Recover ‘War-Like Supplies’

On Saturday morning, the army reported that two terrorists were neutralized by security forces in Kupwara, Jammu and Kashmir, during “Operation GUGALDHAR.” “Two terrorists have been eliminated in the ongoing Operation GUGALDHAR, and ‘war-like stores’ have been recovered. A search of the area is in progress,” the army said in a statement. It added that the troops noticed suspicious activity and engaged the terrorists, resulting in a firefight.
The army explained that on October 4, 2024, following intelligence of an infiltration attempt, a joint operation was initiated by the Indian Army and J&K Police in Gugaldhar, Kupwara. Vigilant troops spotted suspicious movements, challenged the terrorists, and exchanged fire. The operation is still underway. Earlier today, the army confirmed that security forces had thwarted an infiltration attempt along the Line of Control in Kupwara. The operation is being led by a joint team from the Jammu and Kashmir Police and the army. Meanwhile, two army personnel were injured on Friday in a landmine blast near the LoC in Kupwara. “During an early morning patrol at Googaldara, near the LoC in Trehgam, north Kashmir, two army personnel were injured in a landmine explosion,” officials said. They were taken to an army hospital in Drugmulla, where their condition is stable.
