A shocking case has emerged from Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh, where a man has publicly accused his wife of infidelity through a viral video on social media. In the emotional video, the man expresses deep fear for his and his son’s lives, saying he dreads the possibility of their bodies being found in a drum someday. He pleaded for help to protect himself and his child. The police have taken note of the video and begun an investigation.

The matter pertains to the Mauranipur police station area in Jhansi. The man, identified as Pawan, works on contract with the Health Department and is currently posted in the Mahoba district. He has a six-year-old son. His wife is employed as a clerk in a government school.

Pawan accused his wife of having inappropriate relationships with multiple people, leading to their separation. He further claimed that one day, a local councillor visited his house, and he managed to have him detained with police assistance. Since that incident, Pawan alleges, his wife has been threatening him. He fears that either he or his son might be harmed and their bodies disposed of. He has urged the authorities to intervene and ensure their safety.

Pawan said, “I work at the Mahoba District Hospital under the National Health Mission. My wife, Ritu Verma, works at G.G.I.C. Mauranipur. On October 10 last year, I caught her chatting inappropriately with someone. I tried reasoning with her, but she responded, saying, ‘It’s my body, my choice. Who are you to stop me?’ Since then, we’ve been living separately.”

Pawan further explained that the previous night, he had video-called his son. During the call, his wife briefly showed their son sleeping, but as she turned the phone, he sensed another man in the room. The moment he became suspicious, the call was abruptly cut. After pondering the incident for a few minutes, he dialed emergency number 112.

Police arrived at the scene and attempted to get the door opened, creating a commotion that alerted the neighbors. Pawan, who was on duty in Mahoba at the time, was informed by the police that his wife was refusing to open the door. He urged them to force entry, convinced that someone was hiding inside. Eventually, when the door was opened, a man identified as Abhishek Pathak was found inside. Pawan recalled that the name ‘Abhishek’ was also in the chats he had discovered earlier, confirming his suspicion that it was the same individual.

According to Pawan, the 112 police team caught Abhishek red-handed. He even tried to assault bystanders filming the incident and allegedly tried to intimidate the police, using his influence—possibly due to his status as a local councillor.

Pawan pleaded, “Let my wife be with whomever she chooses—I don’t care anymore. All I want is for my child to be safe and with me. Until now, I only had doubts, but now everything is crystal clear. My wife threatens to falsely accuse my family in dowry cases and manipulates me by threatening suicide. I request the authorities to take strict action against both of them and give me justice. Otherwise, I fear something terrible might happen to me.”

Mauranipur Circle Officer Ramveer Singh stated, “We received a viral video via social media showing a man exiting a woman’s house, which falls under the Mauranipur police station area. A call to 112 was received, and our PRV team reached the scene and detained the individual. At the police station, the woman submitted a written complaint claiming the man had come to give her medicine for stomach pain. The viral video is under investigation, and it has been discovered that the incident dates back 9 to 10 months.”
