Jaipur: A woman and her lover have been arrested for allegedly murdering her husband, strangling him, and later setting fire to his body to destroy evidence. The deceased, Dhannalal Saini, a vegetable vendor, was killed after he discovered his wife’s extramarital affair, police said.
According to officials, Gopali Devi had been in a relationship with Deendayal, an employee at a clothing store, for the past five years. Dhannalal recently learned about their affair, which led to the tragic incident. On March 15, Dhannalal reached Shyam Fashion, a shop in Sanganer’s Kashido Wali Gali, looking for his wife. There he found her with Deendayal, triggering a heated argument.
Following the quarrel, Gopali Devi and Deendayal plotted his murder. They lured Dhannalal to another shop above the store, where they attacked him with an iron pipe. After leaving him critically injured, they strangled him with a rope to ensure he was dead.
The duo then stuffed his body into a bag, transported it on Deendayal’s bike, and dumped it near Bheruji Temple. To erase evidence and make identification difficult, they set the body ablaze.
The accused duo had planned to flee Jaipur but were arrested before they could escape, thanks to swift police action.
This incident surfaced a day after a similarly gruesome murder case in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, where a woman named Muskaan and her lover, Sahil Shukla, killed her husband. They chopped his body into pieces and stuffed the remains in a cement drum. Both were arrested.
