Jaipur: Intoxicated Woman Crashes Car Into Motorcycle, Leaving One Dead and Two Injured

A tragic incident occurred in Jaipur on April 29, 2025, when a 27-year-old woman, allegedly under the influence of alcohol, drove her car into a motorcycle near Sanganeri Gate around 12:20 AM. The collision resulted in the death of 14-year-old Asima, who was riding with her father, Islamuddin, and her 6-year-old cousin. Both Islamuddin and the young cousin sustained injuries and are receiving treatment at SMS Hospital.
After the initial crash, the driver, identified as Sanskriti from Jagatpura, reportedly continued driving on the wrong side of the road, colliding with a scooter and narrowly missing a traffic police officer. Eyewitnesses noted that Asima fell headfirst onto the road and was found in a pool of blood when emergency services arrived.
Police, along with local residents, pursued the vehicle. Upon stopping, two male passengers fled the scene, while Sanskriti and a female companion were apprehended. The police confirmed that Sanskriti was intoxicated at the time of the accident. The incident sparked public outrage, leading to a gathering outside the local police station demanding justice.
This event underscores the severe consequences of drunk driving and has prompted calls for stricter enforcement of traffic laws to prevent such tragedies in the future.
