The official who talked to Reuters affirmed that this truce includes an agreement. This agreement traces back to accepting the release of less than 40 hostages in exchange for the release of Palestinians detained in Israeli jails. A second phase of a truce that includes a “period of sustained calm” is Israel’s compromise response to a demand from Hamas for a permanent ceasefire, according to the source. It also includes an agreement.

According to the source, Reuters, Israel would allow unrestricted travel between the south and north of Gaza after the first phase and would partially withdraw its forces from the region. The discussions between the Hamas team and the Qatari and Egyptian mediators will take place in Cairo on Monday, a senior Hamas source told Reuters. The purpose of the discussion is to examine the comments the group made over the Israeli response to its previous proposal.

Some comments published by Reuters indicate that, regarding Israel’s most recent request, Hamas might not respond to mediators right now.
