The M A Stadium in Jammu is set to witness a historic moment as international cricket returns after a 35-year hiatus. The T20 Legends League is ready to unleash a wave of cricket frenzy in the Union Territory, drawing the attention of about a hundred cricket icons from around the globe, all with a shared goal of fostering peace through sports.

The J&K Sports Council eagerly announced the arrival of these cricket legends, heralding the upcoming extravaganza. The last time Jammu hosted an international cricket tournament was back in 1988, a year before the region was overshadowed by militancy.

The excitement kicks off with the clash between Harbhajan Singh’s Manipal Tigers and Aaron Finch’s Southern Superstars under the floodlights at 7 pm. Subsequent matches are scheduled between Bhilwara Kings and Southern Superstars, India Capitals and Gujarat Giants, and Bhilwara Kings against Urbanrisers Hyderabad on November 29, 30, and December 1, respectively, at the same venue.

The star-studded lineup boasts cricket luminaries from various cricketing nations. Alongside Indian legends like Mohammad Kaif, S Sreesanth, Suresh Raina, Robin Uthappa, and Yusuf Pathan, the league features global icons including Shane Watson, Chris Gayle, Hashim Amla, Kevin Pietersen, and many more, representing countries such as Australia, Sri Lanka, West Indies, Ireland, South Africa, England, Bangladesh, New Zealand, and Afghanistan.

The choice of Jammu and Kashmir as the event venue stands out. Co-founder and CEO of Legends League Cricket, Raman Raheja, highlighted the opportunity this event presents, aiming to bring international cricket to smaller towns and cities often deprived of such experiences. Despite concerns about the region’s situation, the UT administration readily offered support and facilities, making it a prime location for this grand event.

This initiative not only marks the return of cricket to Jammu but also symbolizes a unifying force, bringing together cricket enthusiasts and legends from across the world, transcending boundaries through the spirit of the game.
