News India Official: At the seventh meeting of the 58th Session of the UN Human Rights Council, India strongly criticised Pakistan, labeling it a failed state dependent on international aid. Kshitij Tyagi, representing India’s Permanent Mission to the UN in Geneva, stated that it was no surprise that Pakistan’s leaders continued to spread misinformation influenced by their military-terrorist establishment.
“It is unfortunate that Pakistan’s leaders persist in spreading falsehoods dictated by their military-terrorist complex. By misusing the OIC as their propaganda tool, Pakistan is making a mockery of the organization. This Council’s time is being wasted by a failed state that thrives on instability and survives on international handouts,” Tyagi remarked.
Reiterating India’s position, he affirmed that Jammu and Kashmir, along with Ladakh, has always been and will always remain an inseparable part of India and highlighted the region’s progress.
“The Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh have always been and will always remain an integral part of India. The remarkable political, social, and economic advancements in J&K in recent years speak for themselves. These developments reflect the people’s trust in the government’s efforts to restore normalcy in a region long affected by Pakistan-sponsored terrorism,” he added. Tyagi urged Pakistan to abandon its fixation on India and instead focus on addressing its internal issues.
“India remains committed to democracy, progress, and ensuring dignity for its citizens—values that Pakistan would do well to learn from,” he stated.
Tyagi’s remarks came after India’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Ambassador Parvathaneni Harish, reaffirmed on February 19 that Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of India while condemning Pakistan’s attempts to spread misinformation.
Speaking at the UN Security Council’s Open Debate on Practicing Multilateralism and Reforming Global Governance, Harish responded to remarks by Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, who referenced Jammu and Kashmir. “I reaffirm that the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir has been, is, and will always remain an integral and inalienable part of India,” Harish asserted.
