Jugraj Singh broke the tie in the final quarter, leading India to a 1-0 victory over China, cementing its dominance in Asia.

India narrowly defeated hosts China 1-0 to claim its record-extending fifth Asian Champions Trophy title on Tuesday. The Indian team faced a tough challenge in the final against a determined Chinese side, which gave its all in an effort to make a mark. Jugraj Singh, who came on as a substitute, broke the deadlock in the final quarter, helping India reaffirm its dominance in Asia. His rare field goal came at a crucial moment when India’s key players were struggling to get past China’s goalkeeper, Wang Weihao.

Despite being ranked 23rd, China delivered an impressive performance against top-ranked India, with solid defensive play that kept the score level for the first three quarters. China controlled much of the possession but couldn’t penetrate India’s defensive line. While China appeared unsettled in the early minutes, India was unable to capitalize on this. The home crowd, out in large numbers, added pressure on Harmanpreet Singh and his team. As the game progressed, China grew more confident with the ball but lacked intensity without it, allowing India to create chances. Sumit had the first clear shot on goal in the sixth minute but was denied by Weihao.

The changes mostly involve ensuring agreement between singular nouns and pronouns (“India” with “its”) and a couple of minor adjustments for consistency.
