India Clinched its 8th ODI World Cup Victory Against Arch-Rivals Pakistan with Rohit Sharma and a Stellar Bowling Attack
In a highly anticipated showdown at the packed Narendra Modi Stadium, India convincingly defeated Pakistan by seven wickets, keeping their impeccable 50-overs World Cup track record against their arch-rivals intact.
Cricket enthusiasts in the bustling western Indian city had been feverishly awaiting this blockbuster match. India seized control early in the game, restricting Pakistan to a mere 191 runs within 43 overs. Despite a promising partnership between Babar Azam (50) and Mohammad Rizwan (49), a total of 300 seemed attainable for Pakistan, only for them to crumble, failing to complete their allotted 50 overs.
Leading the charge for India, skipper Rohit Sharma’s scintillating 86 set the tone, and the two-time champions comfortably secured victory in just 30.3 overs. With this win, India continues to maintain a perfect record against Pakistan in World Cup history. Furthermore, they now stand alongside 2019 runners-up New Zealand as the only two teams to secure victory in all of their initial three matches in the ongoing tournament.
