Hyderabad: A 28-year-old domestic worker was arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a 17-year-old boy in Jubilee Hills.
The accused lived in the servant quarters of her employer’s home, near where the boy’s family resided. The incident came to light after the minor’s mother, who also works as a maid in the same household, filed a police complaint on Friday.
Police revealed that the unmarried woman had assaulted the boy multiple times between March and April. The abuse was first exposed when the house manager saw the accused kissing the boy and alerted his mother.
In her complaint, the mother stated, “On the evening of April 29, the manager told me he saw the woman kissing my son in the servant quarters. When I confronted her, she claimed she saw him as a younger brother and kissed him affectionately. I scolded her and warned her not to repeat such actions. My son cried when I questioned him but didn’t disclose anything.”
On May 1, when the boy’s parents pressed him further, he admitted that the woman had assaulted him twice and threatened to falsely accuse him of theft if he spoke about it.
That night, the mother approached Jubilee Hills Police, leading to a case under BNS Section 351(2) (criminal intimidation) and POCSO Act Section 9(1) read with Section 10. “We arrested the accused, and she was remanded to judicial custody on Friday,” said Inspector K. Venkateshwar Reddy.
The minor was sent to the Bharosa Centre for counselling and is reported to be in stable condition.
