The Houthi rebels in Yemen took claim for the drone explosion that occurred early on 19 July, Friday, which is thought to have happened in Tel Aviv and resulted in at least 10 injuries and one fatality.
Authorities claimed that as the airborne strike rumbled through the streets, shrapnel fragments began to fall and left a wide explosive radius. How the strike got past Israel’s air defences and how Israel could react were not immediately apparent. Following the event, the Israeli military announced that they were stepping up air patrols.
Throughout the nine-month conflict, the Houthis have frequently launched drones and missiles into Israel out of support for Hamas.
As a member of the Axis of Resistance, which includes Hamas, Houthis, Hezbollah, and other armed groups in the region backed by Iran, the Houthis fight Israel in the region.

However, up until Friday, every one of them was stopped by Western allies or Israel, whose soldiers were positioned nearby.
The group hailed the drone’s ability to get past Israel’s air defences and declared their intention to penetrate deep into Israel in response to the ongoing, nine-month conflict in Gaza between Israel and Hamas.
The Iranian proxy has been working on innovative technological developments and adding new strategic drones to its inventory.

The Houthis’ ability to evade Israeli air defence and enter Israel’s capital, reveals how the Iranian proxy is creating advanced counterstrategies to oppose Israel until it ceases its operations in Gaza.

Given that Israel is renowned for its air defence systems, including the sophisticated Iron Dome Air defence system, which helped them repel Iran’s most recent large-scale attack, the vulnerability in the defence system is of the utmost importance to the Israeli government.
“The operation has achieved its goals successfully,” Houthi spokesperson Yahya Saree said in a broadcast speech, adding that Tel Aviv was a primary target “within the range of our weapons” and that the strike was carried out using a new drone called “Yafa,” which he said was capable of bypassing interception systems and undetectable by radars.
Four people were taken to hospital with minor debris injuries, while four others received shock treatment before being released from the hospital.

Israel and Hamas have recently agreed to diplomatic talks at the table, but none of them are stopping their operations in that region. Tel Aviv recently attacked the Gaza Strip, while the Houthis are still operating in the Red Sea.
According to a statement released by the USMC’s Central Command on Tuesday, the Houthis attacked the Greek-operated, Marshall Islands-owned, Liberian-flagged crude oil tanker MT Chios Lion with an unmanned surface craft.
The international community is urging for diplomatic talks and a cease-fire, but these operations are far from coming to an end.
