A powerful rainstorm hit Chennai and nearby districts on Tuesday, leading to widespread flooding, traffic disruptions, and interruptions to essential services. The city’s infrastructure struggled to handle the heavy downpour, leaving many residents stranded. Superstar Rajinikanth’s luxurious villa in Poes Garden, a well-known landmark, has also been affected, with floodwaters entering the property, according to the Deccan Herald. Social media is flooded with images and videos showing the extent of the flooding and highlighting the severity of the situation. The city’s drainage system has been overwhelmed, contributing to the crisis.
Civic authorities have launched emergency efforts to pump out the water around Rajinikanth’s residence while his staff closely monitors the situation to minimize damage. Although the superstar has not yet made a public statement, reports indicate that he is taking all necessary precautions to ensure the safety of his household. This is not the first time his home has experienced flooding, with a similar incident occurring in 2023 during Cyclone Michaung.
