Stampede at Haridwar’s Mansa Devi Temple Claims 7 Lives, 55 Injured

A devastating stampede occurred at the Mansa Devi Temple in Haridwar, Uttarakhand, resulting in the deaths of at least 7 people and injuring 55 others. The incident took place on the staircases leading to the main temple during a large gathering of devotees.
According to authorities, the stampede was triggered by rumors of potential electrocution, which caused panic among the crowd. The exact cause of the panic is still under investigation.

The Uttarakhand government has announced financial assistance of Rs 2 lakh for the families of the victims and Rs 50,000 for those injured. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Droupadi Murmu extended their condolences to the victims’ families and wished a speedy recovery to the injured.
