A shocking incident in Gwalior, reminiscent of the Meerut murder case, saw a woman allegedly attempting to kill her husband by running him over with a car, aided by her lover. The victim, Anil Pal, claimed that his wife and her boyfriend tried to crush him under the vehicle’s wheels and dragged him for several meters before fleeing. The attack, captured on CCTV, reportedly shows the woman’s lover driving the car with the intent to kill.
The incident occurred in Gwalior’s Taraganj area, where Anil accused his wife, Rajni Pal, a resident of Tekanpur, of plotting his murder with her lover, Mangal Singh Kushwaha. Anil, who married Rajni in 2016, alleged that she began threatening him soon after their wedding. Despite their troubled marriage, he remained silent due to societal pressure and their children. However, Rajni’s frequent visits to her maternal home raised his suspicions. Upon investigating, he discovered her alleged extramarital affair with their neighbor, Mangal.
On March 20, when Rajni told him she was visiting her maternal home and would return by evening, Anil decided to follow her. He reached Gwalior’s Nakachandrabadhni area early, only to see her stepping out of a car with Mangal. As he tried to stop them, Mangal, allegedly with intent to kill, ran him over and fled. The attack left Anil seriously injured, with CCTV footage showing him being hit and dragged for several meters.
Initially, the police registered the case as a road accident. The next day, Rajni allegedly left their home but returned on Wednesday, reportedly threatening Anil while insisting they continue living together. Fearing for his safety, Anil escalated his complaint to the Superintendent of Police (SP), demanding justice.
Authorities have assured a thorough investigation, but the case has sparked concerns over domestic disputes escalating into violent crimes.
