A letter threatening a bomb blast was reportedly discovered on an international flight at Gujarat’s Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport, police said on Monday. According to a PTI report citing an official, the note was found on board a Jeddah-Ahmedabad flight shortly after it landed at Ahmedabad airport on Monday morning. Following a thorough search, no suspicious items were detected on the aircraft.
Sharad Singhal, Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime Branch), stated that local police, the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS), and other security agencies conducted a detailed search after the note was discovered under a passenger seat.
“A flight from Jeddah landed in Ahmedabad in the morning. After all passengers had disembarked, the cleaning staff found a note threatening to blow up the plane. Local police and security agencies have launched an investigation,” the official said.
Forensic experts have also been called in to match fingerprints and handwriting samples of the passengers to identify the person responsible for the note. “We will verify the fingerprints and handwriting of each passenger. So far, nothing suspicious has been found,” the official added.
