According to SP City Sanjeev Vajpayee, the woman, identified as Nargis, hailed from Chhota Itawa village under Bijnor city police station. Investigations revealed that she was in a relationship with Abdul Rehman, a resident of Manihari Sarai locality in Nagina town.
The two became friends on Facebook and eventually entered a romantic relationship. Abdul, who works at a salon in Mumbai, was the man Nargis wanted to marry. However, her family had arranged her marriage to someone else against her wishes. Hoping to change his mind, Nargis called Abdul from Mumbai and arranged to meet him at a mall in Bijnor accompanied by a female friend.
On January 15, Nargis met Abdul at the mall and begged him to take her to Mumbai. Abdul declined, assuring her he would discuss the matter with her parents instead. Afterward, they left the mall and took a rickshaw to the bus stand, where Abdul paid the driver ₹50 to drop Nargis home before heading back to Nagina.
Rather than returning home, Nargis purchased pesticide and sent her friend away. She then returned to the mall, where she consumed the poison. She contacted her father, Raees Ahmed, through a woman at the mall, informing him of her location. Her family arrived as her condition worsened and rushed her to a private hospital, which referred her to a hospital in Meerut. Tragically, Nargis died on the way.
