Giant Lizard Takes Over Karnataka Village, Leaving Locals in Shock!

The discovery of a rare Komodo Dragon in Kodagu, Karnataka, has attracted much attention on social media. This remarkable find occurred in the Kunda village in Ponnampet taluk, situated in the Kodagu district. The lizard was spotted near the residence of a resident named Dileep from Kodandera, measuring an impressive 6 feet long.
The Komodo Dragon, recognized as the world’s largest lizard, is typically native to the Indonesian Islands of Komodo, Rinca, Flores, and Gili Motang. It is known to grow up to a staggering 3 meters or 9.8 feet in length. First encountered by Western scientists in 1910, this remarkable creature is now listed as an endangered species by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).
Adult Komodo Dragons can attain heights of up to 10 feet and exhibit a weight range of 90 to 136 kilograms. During their early years, they are often found in trees, but as they reach the age of five, they become more terrestrial in their habits. These carnivorous creatures are formidable hunters, capable of reaching speeds of up to 12 miles or 19.3 kilometers per hour. Rather than chasing their prey, they prefer to employ ambush tactics. While their diet consists primarily of decaying flesh or animal carcasses, young dragons typically feed on smaller prey such as lizards, insects, birds, and snakes.
