G-Dragon Signs an Exclusive Contract with a New Company and Announces a Comeback in 2024
On December 21, BIGBANG’s G-Dragon officially signed a contract with his new company, Galaxy Corporation, and parted ways with his previous company, YG Entertainment. This announcement was made on December 21 through a special press conference organized by Galaxy Corporation. The K-pop idol was not present himself at the event, but the director of his new company, Jo Sung-hae, was personally present there. On behalf of G-Dragon, he discussed G-Dragon’s plans for next year.
Last month, G-Dragon was involved in a serious scandal concerning drug possession. He was summoned several times by the police for an inquiry and tests in this case. It was only a few days ago that he was acquitted of all charges and released. Regarding this, Jo Sung-hae, the director of Galaxy Corporation, said that this press conference was arranged as a preparation step for G-Dragon so that he could return safely to the public eye after enduring a difficult time for the last few weeks.
The new agency made sure to strongly emphasize G-Dragon’s innocence in the last month’s drug scandal. They pointed out that the police had officially cleared him of all charges as he was not found guilty. Jo Sung-hae went on to say that their new artist had no connection with the recent drug scandal. However, he had to endure a difficult time due to widespread speculation and rumors. He refrained people from associating his name again with this scandal. He also stated that the agency has full faith in G-Dragon, and they had no hesitation in signing an exclusive contract with him.
The company also made an announcement regarding malicious posts or comments on the internet. The company stated that G-Dragon had to undergo a lot of suffering due to false information being spread on the internet. They said that they have made a decision with G-Dragon that they will give anyone who posted such content time until midnight on December 28 to delete those posts. The company then said that after that date, Galaxy Corporation would take strong legal action without any leniency against anyone who would try to harm the artist’s reputation.
Director Jo Sung-hae also read out a handwritten letter by G-Dragon in this press conference. In the letter, the K-pop idol said that he was thankful to everyone who stood by him during his dark time. He said that due to his personal experience in the last month, he has realized how a lot of lives have been ruined by a growing drug addiction problem. He stated that he wanted to help such people and has therefore decided to establish an organization where people with addiction problems could get help. He ended the letter by making a promise to his fans to make a comeback in 2024 and asking everyone to end this year on a good note.
Fans all around the world were very happy and relieved by this announcement. They are eagerly looking forward to G-Dragon’s return as a soloist in the music scene in the next year.
