Flood in Dubai: Torrential Rain Across UAE

Dubai received a year’s worth of rain in a day as torrential rain hit across the UAE. The UAE’s National Centre of Meteorology issued a red alert across the country due to the “unsettled weather.”
Dubai Airport, the world’s busiest airport by international passenger traffic, halted its operations for twenty-five minutes and cancelled over 50 flights on Tuesday, 16th April.
The deserted city extended remote working periods for government employees amid the flash flood. Schools remained closed. Vehicles waded through the streets of Dubai as they turned into rivers.
Flash floods disrupted the metro services of the city. Numerous houses were submerged under water.
The Arabian Peninsula experienced torrential rains and a stronger storm. More than 18 people have died in neighbouring Oman.
