On December 2, farmers will march to Delhi to demand compensation under the new farm laws, prompting traffic advisories and restrictions to ease congestion.
The Bhartiya Kisan Parishad (BKP), along with other farmer groups like the Kisan Mazdoor Morcha (KMM) and the Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM), has announced a march to Delhi on Monday to demand compensation and benefits under the new agricultural laws. The march will begin at noon on December 2, with the first group, led by BKP leader Sukhbir Khalifa, starting from under the Maha Maya flyover in Noida.
“We are fully prepared for our march. On December 2, we will gather under the Maha Maya flyover at noon and head towards Delhi to demand our rightful compensation and benefits,” Khalifa told ANI.
In response, Noida authorities have issued a traffic advisory to manage congestion, urging commuters to use alternative routes or opt for the metro. Stringent checks will be conducted by the Delhi and Gautam Buddh Nagar police at all border points, with barricades set up to monitor traffic. Traffic diversions and restrictions are in place to ensure smooth flow and safety, including a ban on goods vehicles entering Delhi through routes like the Yamuna Expressway, Noida-Greater Noida Expressway, and Surajpur.
