On August 7, Gurmeet Singh murdered a village woman due to a love affair, and on the same day, a case was registered against him at the Sadar police station.
About a week ago, the body of a young man who had murdered a woman due to a love affair in the village of Aulakh in Faridkot was found hanging from a tree in the New Grain Market on Wednesday. It is suspected that the young man hanged himself 2-3 days earlier. The information came to light on Wednesday after a foul smell spread in the area. Following the information, the police took possession of the body and sent it for a post-mortem at Guru Gobind Singh Medical College Hospital in Faridkot.
According to reports, shopkeepers on Bathinda Road had been noticing a foul smell since Wednesday morning. When people searched the surrounding area, they found the body of a young man hanging from a tree in a dense wooded area of the New Grain Market. The City Police Station was then informed. The police arrived at the scene and brought the body down. The deceased was identified as Gurmeet Singh Gora, a resident of Jaito Road, who had killed a woman with a sharp object due to a love affair in the village of Aulakh about a week ago. Gurmeet Singh had been absconding since the murder, and on Wednesday, it was revealed that he had committed suicide.
Meanwhile, the deceased’s brother, Hardeep Singh, alleged that his brother had been falsely implicated in the murder case, which led him to take this step. DSP Jatinder Singh stated that after committing the murder, the accused Gurmeet Singh had been hiding, and based on the condition of the body, it appears that he had committed suicide 2-3 days earlier. The police are currently investigating the entire matter.
