Washington DC: Tech billionaire Elon Musk in an interview with Fox News, accused the US bureaucracy of “fighting against the will of the people” and delaying the implementation of President Donald Trump’s executive orders. The Tesla CEO and head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) didn’t stop there – he revealed his close ties to Trump, calling himself the president’s personal “tech assistant” and sharing shocking details about how the system is “Sabotaging Democracy.”
Elon Musk, a vocal Trump supporter, accused the bureaucracy of actively blocking the president’s orders, saying the US is “living in a bureaucracy, not a democracy.” He also cited the recent example of taxpayer money being used to fund luxury hotels for illegal immigrants – despite Trump’s executive order to stop it. “This is a violation of the president’s executive order. This needs to stop,” he said.
During the interview, Elon Musk opened up about his personal relationship with Trump and called him a “good guy” who has been “unfairly attacked” by the media. He defended Trump against his critics, saying, “I’ve spent a lot of time with the president, and not once have I seen him do anything bad, cruel or wrong.” He also revealed that he was planning to support Trump in the 2024 race, but the recent assassination attempt on the president “accelerated it.”
Elon Musk did not shy away from talking about the criticism he has received since supporting Trump. “I used to be loved by the left. Not anymore,” he said. He added that some people react to Trump’s name as if “an arrow filled with methamphetamine and rabies has been shot into their throat.” He joked about the dirty looks he gets, saying, “If looks could kill, I would have died many times over.”
As the head of DOGE, Elon Musk explained that his team’s primary focus is to ensure that Trump’s executive orders are actually followed. “The president is the elected representative of the people. If the bureaucracy is fighting against the will of the people, then the situation we are living in is not a democracy but a bureaucracy,” he said. He also stressed the importance of his role as Trump’s “tech support,” saying, “I’m here to provide technical support to the president to make sure these sensible orders are followed.”
Elon Musk also took aim at the left and accused them of suffering from “Trump derangement syndrome.” He shared a personal anecdote about how mentioning Trump’s name in conversation can trigger irrational reactions. “You can’t reason with people,” Musk said, highlighting the growing polarization in the country.
Musk’s explosive comments have reignited debate about the role of bureaucracy in US governance and the challenges of enforcing the president’s directives. Musk has established himself as a key player in Trump’s circle, so the interview is sure to spark discussion about the relationship between technology, politics and democracy.
