Dunki is Expected to Be the Last Blockbuster Film of King Khan This Year
In nine months, there have been two historic blockbusters, but for Shah Rukh Khan, picture abhi baaki hain. The actor is preparing for his final movie of the year, Dunki, following the unprecedented success of his espionage actioner Pathaan and the recently released Jawan.
Dunki, a comedy-drama film directed by Rajkumar Hirani, is slated for release on December 22. Shah Rukh and Hirani, who are known for hits like Sanju, PK, 3 Idiots, and the Munna Bhai series, are working together for the first time on this movie.
During a Red Sea Festival interview with Deadline, Shah Rukh described Dunki as a “big journey film” about a group of individuals seeking to return to their own India. “It is a tale of people who, when they finally hear the calling, wish to return home. His films are consistently a blend of humor and strong national sentiment,” Shah Rukh Khan continued. It is a great journey movie that travels through various parts of the world before returning to India at the end.
One of the most anticipated films of the year, Dunki, will try to maintain Shah Rukh’s successful run of box office hits. In addition to Vicky Kaushal, Taapsee Pannu also appears in the movie. But before Dunki takes over, Shah Rukh will be seen in a special appearance in Tiger 3. Headlined by Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif, the big-scale actioner will see Salman and Shah Rukh together on screen again after their memorable sequence in Pathaan. The film is scheduled to be released in Diwali.
Rumor has it that SRK and Rajkumar Hirani are discussing postponing the movie. However, there is no official confirmation from the team. A significant achievement for the actor is anticipated when the digital and satellite rights to the movie are acquired for Rs 480 crore.
