On Super Tuesday, March 5, voters cast ballots for presidential candidates in 16 US states and one territory. The contest between Republican Donald Trump and his opponent, President Joe Biden, is fierce and might result in a rematch in November’s general election. Nikki Haley, Trump’s final opponent, was looking for a reason to press on with her increasingly unlikely campaign.
The largest night of the primary campaign is almost done, but complete results won’t be known for several more hours, according to the Associated Press. Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Maine, Massachusetts, Minnesota, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, and the US territory of American Samoa all hosted nomination contests.
