A woman in north Delhi allegedly severed her husband’s private parts following an argument, according to police on Saturday. A case has been filed against her, and an investigation is ongoing. The victim, who is currently stable and out of danger, is being treated at Safdarjung Hospital for his injuries, as reported by PTI. Police received a report about the incident in the early hours of November 1 from the Roop Nagar area and subsequently recorded the victim’s statement on Saturday.
In his statement, the man shared that he is originally from Bihar and had moved to Delhi with his wife a few months ago. He works as a helper at a paying guest accommodation in Shakti Nagar. On the night of the incident, he had been drinking and got into an argument with his wife. Following the dispute, his wife left the house, and he eventually fell asleep. Later, she reportedly returned, attacked him with a sharp object, and fled the scene.
The injured man was initially taken to Bara Hindu Rao Hospital and later transferred to Safdarjung Hospital for further treatment. Police revealed that the woman is currently absconding, and efforts are being made to locate her.
Both the victim and his wife were in their third marriage. This incident is reminiscent of a similar case in Bihar in July, where a woman, angered by her partner’s refusal to marry her after a five-year relationship, severed his genitals and disposed of them.
