Following a powerful explosion that damaged the wall of a CRPF school in Delhi’s Rohini on Sunday, a multi-agency investigation was launched to identify the cause and capture those responsible. A senior police officer, cited by PTI, revealed that authorities are investigating a possible Khalistani connection to the blast. Although no injuries were reported, the IED explosion caused damage to the school’s wall, as well as nearby shops and cars. It is suspected that the perpetrators intended to send a message to the authorities, according to the officer.

Delhi Police began investigating a Khalistani link after a social media post claimed the Rohini blast was in retaliation for the alleged targeting of pro-Khalistan separatists by Indian agents, PTI sources said. The IED, likely triggered by a remote or timer and without deadly shrapnel, was believed to have been planted late Saturday night and detonated between 7:35 and 7:40 am on Sunday, according to locals.

Later that evening, a purported screenshot of a Telegram post by a group called Justice League India circulated online, featuring a video of the explosion in Rohini with the phrase “Khalistan Zindabad” watermarked. The post declared, “If Indian agencies and their masters believe they can hire goons to target our members and silence us, they are living in a fantasy. They cannot imagine how close we are or our ability to strike at any time,” along with hashtags like #KhalistanZindabad and #JLI. This incident occurred amid a series of bomb threats directed at flights across India in the past week, all of which turned out to be hoaxes.

Immediately after the explosion, teams from the National Investigation Agency (NIA), National Security Guard (NSG), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), and Delhi Police cordoned off the area and collected samples for further investigation. An officer noted that the location was deliberately chosen to avoid harming people but to deliver a message.
