New Delhi: The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has dedicated an entire platform wall at the Sir M. Vishweshwaraiah Moti Bagh station on the Pink Line to honour the brave soldiers awarded the prestigious Param Vir Chakra, India’s highest military decoration. The wall has been transformed into a gallery featuring portraits of these heroic warriors.
Created by a team of artists, the vivid and lifelike portraits capture the unwavering spirit and courage of the awardees. Each artwork is accompanied by a brief description, highlighting their extraordinary contributions. Anuj Dayal, Principal Executive Director of Corporate Communications at DMRC, stated that the tribute serves as a powerful reminder of the sacrifices made by the armed forces to protect the nation.
“DMRC encourages commuters to pause and reflect on the lives of these extraordinary individuals and to find inspiration in their selfless service,” he added.
Previously, DMRC has paid homage to legendary figures like Major Mohit Sharma and Brigadier Hoshiar Singh by naming stations after them. A permanent exhibition dedicated to the gallantry award recipients of the Indian Armed Forces is also showcased at the Rajouri Garden Metro Station.
