Delhi: A devastating car accident occurred on National Highway 9 (NH-9) near Babugarh in Hapur, Uttar Pradesh, on Tuesday night. The crash killed the two men from Delhi. Police identified the victims as Shoaib Khan (27) and Faiz Khan (20), both residents of Laxmi Nagar. They were returning from a vacation in Nainital when the accident occurred around 9 p.m.
According to police, the car, driven by Faiz, lost control and hit a boundary wall before overturning. Three other passengers — Suhail Khan, Mohammad Ali, and Harshit Agarwal — sustained injuries in the crash. Authorities rushed them to a hospital in Meerut for treatment. The condition of the injured is currently stable. However, doctors referred Harshit to a higher medical facility due to the severity of his injuries.
Investigation Underway
Hapur Circle Officer Jitendra Sharma stated that the accident likely occurred due to heavy rainfall, which may have caused the driver to lose control of the vehicle. “No formal complaint has been filed, and the matter is under investigation,” Sharma added.
The deceased, Shoaib, was a garment shop owner, while Faiz worked at a call center in Gurgaon. Faiz’s father, Arif Ali, expressed shock and grief over the loss of his son, saying, “A couple of hours before the mishap, Faiz called to say they would reach home around 11 p.m.”
The police have initiated an investigation into the cause of the accident and are working to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the tragic incident.
