A man was arrested for assaulting another man who was sleeping on a footpath in Model Town, Delhi, after the victim asked him not to urinate in public. CCTV footage captured the incident, showing the accused getting off a two-wheeler and approaching the man on the footpath. The accused woke him up and began beating him with a stick, while two friends waited on the bike, watching without intervening.

The attack lasted 20 seconds, after which the accused briefly retreated but then returned to continue the assault for another 20 seconds. During this time, the victim was unable to defend himself or stand up. The assailant only stopped when a car passed by, and pedestrians were seen walking on a park track across the street. He then fled the scene with his friends on the bike.

Despite one bystander witnessing the attack, no one stepped in to help. After reviewing the CCTV footage, police identified the accused as Aryan, who worked as a servant in the area. The incident was triggered the day before when Aryan was urinating in the open near a park, and the victim, Ramfal, who worked at a nearby shop, urged him to stop. The confrontation led to Aryan returning the next day with friends to assault Ramfal. Aryan was arrested but released on bail shortly after. There is no update on the condition of the victim or the involvement of Aryan’s friends.
