A shocking incident unfolded at a renowned restaurant located in Pali Hill, Bandra West, Mumbai when a customer stumbled upon a disturbing surprise in his meal – a dead baby rat. Anurag Singh, aged 40 and a bank executive, had visited the restaurant with a friend after a shopping excursion.

Talking about the incident, the friends had ordered the chicken and mutton thali with bread and had consumed a good portion of the food. In his meal, Anurag Singh noticed a dead baby rat in the chicken dish. He suspected the meat quality. Mr. Singh’s statement, “The chicken curry that I ordered seemed to have a piece of meat that looked much lighter in color. When I picked it out with a spoon, it turned out to be a small rat.” The restaurant is known for its Punjabi food.

Upon complaining to the staff, they apologized to the customer, but the manager didn’t come to the front for 45 minutes and started giving vague excuses. He said that the food is checked multiple times by the staff members to ensure that no such thing ever happens. The customer has filed a complaint against the restaurant at the police station near Bandra. As a result, the manager and the 2 cooks have been arrested under the relevant section. The restaurant manager insisted that such an incident has not occurred in the last 22 years. He said that the food is checked multiple times by the staff members to ensure that no such thing ever happens.

Devrak Gore, the advocate for the restaurant, said that Singh came with one more person and was quite drunk. They had almost finished the food when they pointed out the rat in the dish. Adding to her statement, she also mentioned that Mr. Singh had asked the manager to settle the matter monetarily. Upon denial, they had approached the cops and had potentially ruined the lives of two poor cooks, who didn’t have any criminal background. Furthermore, she said that the police investigation didn’t involve the FDA, which is quite questionable. The cooks and the manager have been released on bail.
