Let’s keep an eye on the updates in the case.

The charge sheet filed by the Delhi Police against Brij Bhushan goes public. Singh has been directed to appear before the court on July 18. It was also noted that there was enough evidence against the WFI chief to proceed further in the case. The charge sheet against him states that Singh was “liable to be prosecuted and punished for the multiple offences” The charge sheet accuses him of multiple offenses, including sexual harassment, molestation, and stalking, as defined by sections 506, 354, 345A, and 354D of the law. Two of the photographs show him “making advances towards one of the accusers.” while his phone’s location aligns with another affidavit. Additionally, a collection of photographs validates his presence at an event where the complainant claimed the harassment occurred. The charge sheet documents 15 cases against the Chief of Wrestling Federation of India. The police have also examined 108 witnesses to the case till now; these witnesses included officials of WFI, coaches, and fellow participants in the events.

Being in the news and facing allegations are not new to Brij Bhusan Singh; his political career was controversial before these allegations as well. Singh was eminent in the demolition of Babri Masjid and also faced TADA, but he was eventually pardoned due to insufficient evidence. However, a viral video has surfaced, showing Singh behaving inappropriately towards a lady reporter who was questioning him about the allegations raised by the female wrestlers.

The uncertainty regarding Singh’s arrest following the filing of the case, as well as his potential removal from his position, remains unresolved, leaving an open question mark over these matters.
