‘Challenged Him to Take his Own Life’: Family of Delhi Café Owner Accuses His Wife
When questioned about the business dispute between Puneet and Manika, his sister claimed that an agreement had been signed, but Manika continued to insist on her share.
New Delhi: Puneet Khurana (40) died by suicide at his Model Town residence, and his family has accused his estranged wife, Manika Pahwa, and her family of mentally harassing him, which they claim pushed him to the brink.
Speaking to ANI, Puneet’s sister alleged, “Manika Pahwa, along with her parents and sister, mentally tortured my brother. They stressed him out and provoked him, saying, ‘You can’t do anything; take your own life if you dare.’ Before his death, Puneet recorded a video on his phone detailing everything. He explained how Manika and her family pressured him mentally, threatened to evict our parents, and dared him to even open the shutters of his shop. They constantly abused him.”
Regarding a business dispute between Puneet and Manika, she said, “They initially ran the bakery business together. However, during the initial divorce proceedings, an agreement was signed that Puneet would manage For God’s Bakery, and Manika would take over Woodbox Cafe. Despite this settlement, she continued to demand her share, even after the matter was decided in court. Instead of addressing it legally, she kept calling him and insisting on her share.”
