Catalan Queens Dominate: Barça Femení’s Supreme Start to the Season

FC Barcelona Femení has started the new season, 2024-2025, with the same dominance that has come to be associated with their brand of football. The defending champions won their opening game of the season 3-0 with displays of strength, talented feats, and unity. The backline, marshaled by the ever-reliable Mapi León, did just enough to neuter any attempts by their opponents to manufacture anything resembling danger. Meanwhile, Gemma Font was largely a spectator between the posts, a testament to their solid defensive base.

The win also showed the depth of talent in the squad. The other goal was scored in the 71st minute via Esmee Brugts. Even with the arrivals and departures of star players, head coach Pere Romeu has plenty of options to keep the club active during the tough season.
