Canadian Report Finds ‘No Conclusive Evidence’ Linking India to Khalistan Activist Nijjar’s Killing
A Canadian report disputes Justin Trudeau’s claims of Indian agents’ involvement in Nijjar’s killing, stating no conclusive connection to any foreign state.
A Canadian commission report has contradicted Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s allegations that Indian agents were involved in the killing of Khalistani separatist leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar, stating that “no definitive link” to a “foreign state” was “proven,” according to news agency PTI. The findings are part of a 123-page report titled Public Inquiry Into Foreign Interference in Federal Electoral Processes and Democratic Institutions, released on Tuesday.
While the report dismisses a conclusive link to India in Nijjar’s killing, it also accuses the Indian government of interfering in Canadian elections—a claim that India has strongly denied. In response, the Ministry of External Affairs stated, “We have seen a report about alleged activities on purported interference. It is, in fact, Canada that has been consistently interfering in India’s internal affairs, creating an environment for illegal migration and organised criminal activities. We reject the report’s insinuations on India and expect that the support system enabling illegal migration will not be further countenanced.”
