In conversation with Bloomberg Screentime, spilling some beans regarding the upcoming project by BTS as a group, HYBE chairman and founder of “Big Hit,” Bang Si-hyuk has revealed that BTS is going to release a 10-year anniversary album project ahead of their regrouping after compulsory military service.
Recalling an old promise they made to each other, Bang Si-hyuk said that they planned the release of a 10-year anniversary album project during the very beginning of their journey. He further added, “It was a significant album series for BTS, as you are aware when they launched their “The Most Beautiful Moment In Life (HYYH)” album series in 2015. It represented their lives, their identities, and the lives they were leading, as well as their development as artists. This functioned as a catalyst for their ascent to worldwide prominence as a band. We said to one another, ‘Let’s make sure we put out a 10-year anniversary album and a project,’ when we were young and all working together.”
During the course of his interview, he revealed, “They would have released it with someone else if they hadn’t signed with [HYBE]. They wouldn’t have done it with us, though. It is very significant to me that I am able to fulfill this promise; in fact, I believe that many people have already surmised that this is the first time I have publicly mentioned that a 10-year anniversary project is in the works.”
As of right now, Jin, J-Hope, and Suga have commenced their mandatory military service that every man in Korea has to abide by. Jimin, V, Jungkook, and RM have not yet enlisted and are currently working on their solo projects that they will release prior to their enlistment. Jungkook is the first up to go ahead with his solo album “Golden” on November 3 this year. It will be followed by his solo concert later that month. On October 23, Jimin’s Production Diary, his solo documentary film, will be available on Weverse. It will include the recording of “Face,” his first solo album that was released earlier this year. A few weeks ago, BTS member V released his solo album “Layover.” RM has been touring and participating in a number of projects.
