New Delhi: An 11-year-old boy in Uttar Pradesh’s Bijnor district allegedly took his own life after being reprimanded by his father for skipping school, police reported on Thursday.
The tragic incident took place on Wednesday in Mohalla Milkian. According to Kiratpur Station House Officer (SHO) Virendra Kumar, the boy, Shadan, had been regularly missing school. After his father, Nisar, scolded him over the issue, Shadan left the house.
When he failed to return, his family began searching for him. Later that evening, his body was found hanging from a wall hook in a nearby vacant plot, the SHO said.
Police have sent the body for a postmortem examination and confirmed that an investigation into the incident is currently underway.
