Jennie also explained in the captions under her photos that OA stands for ODD ATELIER, which will be a space that aims to create new things that attract attention in a different way from what is usual or expected.
She also wrote a heartfelt message for her fans in English about this latest development in her career. She wrote that this year was filled with accomplishments for her, and she also received a lot of love from everyone around her. She went ahead and wrote that she is very excited to see what the future holds for her, as she revealed that she is going to start her solo journey in 2024 with a company that she had established called OA. Jennie’s announcement of establishing her own company came only two weeks after the news that all the BLACKPINK members had renewed their contract to continue activities as a group with their founding agency, YG Entertainment. At that time, various speculations were going on about all the members’ decisions regarding their solo careers. While all the members had decided to carry on with group activities with YG, the individual contracts of Jennie, Jisoo, Lisa, and Rosé with the company were still being negotiated. It was believed that some of the members were considering pursuing solo careers outside the agency. Among them, Jennie has become the first BLACKPINK member to announce her plans to establish her own agency for her solo career. It is yet to be seen if Jisoo, Rosé, and Lisa will re-sign with YG Entertainment individually or create their individual paths as well.
Jennie’s announcement has stirred a wave of emotions among BLINKS. Her fans are already supporting her for embarking on this new journey and are eager to see what creative projects Jennie will create under her company. Everyone is excited to see how Jennie will manage her solo career as well as continue her role as a member of BLACKPINK.
