The BJP MP stated that the Congress leader “brazenly misrepresented historical and factual information while also attempting to mock the nation.”
BJP MP Nishikant Dubey wrote to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on Tuesday, urging him to initiate privilege proceedings against Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi. Dubey accused the Congress leader of “brazenly distorting historical and factual realities” while attempting to mock the nation and undermine the prestige of the republic.
During his speech in the Lok Sabha on Monday, as part of the discussion on the Motion of Thanks to the President’s Address, Rahul Gandhi alleged that Chinese troops had intruded into Indian territory, a claim denied by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He further asserted that the army chief had acknowledged the presence of Chinese forces within Indian borders.
“The Prime Minister denies that Chinese forces have entered our territory, yet our army continues discussions with China regarding their incursion, and even our Chief of Army Staff has stated that the Chinese are inside our territory,” Gandhi said, sparking uproar in the Lok Sabha.
