BJP Appoints Mohan Lal Badoli as New Party President of the Haryana Unit
Mohan Lal Badoli replaces Nayab Singh Saini as BJP gears up for Haryana Assembly polls amid Congress resurgence
On Tuesday, July 09, 2024, BJP President national JP Nadda appointed MLA Mohan Lal Badoli as the new party’s President of the Haryana unit. The appointment comes as the ruling BJP government in Haryana gears up for the Assembly polls. MLA Badoli replaced Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini.
The BJP has been in power in Haryana State since 2014, and in recent Lok Sabha polls, the main opposition party Congress displayed great signs of revival, winning 5 of the state’s 10 Lok Sabha seats.
MLA Badoli lost the Lok Sabha election from the Sonipat seat to his Congress rival.
CM Nayab Singh Saini and other BJP leaders claim that they will form the government for the third time in a row in Haryana.
On 29 June, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that they will fight the Vidhan Sabha election alone under the leadership of Nayab Singh Saini and showed confidence that the party will come back to power with a full majority this year.
Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Sunday claimed that Congress is weak in every Assembly seat. He said, “I don’t think Congress will be able to win any seat in the assembly election this year because BJP is very strong in every single seat in Haryana.” He also said that the people of Haryana will make PM Modi stronger.
