Birthday Party Turns Deadly: Father and Uncle Arrested for Murder in Sector 52

A birthday celebration turned tragic on Saturday night in Sector 52 when an argument escalated into violence, resulting in the murder of a 30-year-old man, Dharminder. The accused, identified as the birthday boy’s father, Monu (21), and uncle, Amit (19), residents of Kajheri village, Sector 52, were arrested by police on Sunday.
Incident Details
- Altercation: The incident occurred during a birthday party when a scuffle broke out between the complainant, Deepak (26), and the accused.
- Violence: The altercation turned violent when the two brothers began assaulting Deepak. When Dharminder intervened to protect Deepak, the accused started attacking him as well.
- Fatal Injury: Amit allegedly struck Dharminder with an iron rod, resulting in serious head injuries.
Investigation and Arrests
- Case Registered: A case was registered under Sections 117(1), 103(1), and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at the Sector 36 police station based on Deepak’s statement.
- Arrests: Monu and Amit were arrested on Sunday and later produced in court on Monday, where they were sent to judicial custody.
- Confession: During interrogation, Monu confessed to punching and kicking both Deepak and Dharminder, while Amit admitted to hitting Dharminder with the iron rod.
Postmortem and Body Handed Over
- Postmortem Examination: A postmortem examination was conducted, and Dharminder’s body was handed over to his legal heirs.
The police investigation revealed that the accused do not have any prior criminal record. The case is now under further investigation.
