What was initially believed to be a leopard attack in Sansarpur village has now been confirmed as a murder rooted in a land dispute, according to police findings in the death of 55-year-old dairy farmer Kamaljeet Singh.

On May 16, Kamaljeet was discovered critically injured just 30 metres from his home after returning from delivering milk. His family was away at the time. Locals rushed him to a private hospital, but he died while being transferred to a higher medical facility. Arun Kumar, a fellow villager who accompanied him, claimed a wild animal had attacked him.
However, the post-mortem report contradicted this version, revealing wounds caused by sharp weapons rather than an animal. Further investigation led police to arrest Arun Kumar and his father, Jhunde, both residents of the same village.
A wooden stick and a hoe, suspected to have been used in the crime, were recovered. Bijnor SP Abhishek Jha stated, “Two individuals have been arrested. Initial evidence points to a land dispute as the motive. The investigation is still underway.”
Following the revelation, Kamaljeet’s brother Amarjeet Singh filed a complaint under BNS Sections 3(5) and 103(1) for murder.
